Drum Lessons at Taunton Music

Drum Lessons can be taken in a group or individually. In group lessons we use electric drum kits with each student having sole use of a kit with headphones and music player. This means that the students in the group are playing for the full lesson time and are not having to take turns to play. It also doesn’t matter if they are of different abilities as they are working on their own. Individual lessons are taken in the live room which is sound proofed and air conditioned enabling the use of the acoustic drum kit. Students may choose either to follow a graded syllabus, taking an exam at the end of each course, or a less formal approach where they learn a style of music and then play along to covers in that style. In both cases the students will be taught correct technique, which is essential for good facility on the instrument.

You Can’t Beat Drums!

The thrilling sound of a rolling snare drum, the deep beating of a kettle drum…most people at some stage or other in their lives have wished they could play the drums, and those who actually take the plunge never regret it. A drum kit has a fascination to it which makes picking up the drum stick and striking the drum almost irresistible. Drum Lessons help you unleash all your creative energy and improve your rhythmic ability

Drums for Young and Old Alike

Drawn by the glamour of rock bands or favourite pop groups, young people love playing drums. For many, finding themselves in front of a real live drum kit is a dream come true. It provides an outlet for all that youthful energy, as well as a sound basis for learning to appreciate music. Drum playing lessons often provide an incentive for learning to read music, a valuable skill which can stand them in good stead throughout their life.

For those adults who associate drums with rock stars, don’t imagine that only the young can learn to play. We are delighted to offer drums lessons for adults as well. What better time can there be to take up a new hobby that provides both mental and physical stimulation, as well as a thoroughly absorbing experience.
