Piano, Ukelele and Singing
Sasha Herriman is a singer and vocal coach. Sasha studied music at Durham University and performs regularly as a soloist. She runs her own music theatre company The Bluebirds which devises new music-theatre and classical-cabaret music performances. Sasha also teaches piano, ukulele and recorders. Sasha has sung at the Royal Albert Hall with the Ravi Shankar Orchestra at the Concert for George, on the soundtrack for Spielberg’s’ Band of Brothers’, and for Rick Wakeman’s ‘Six Wives of Henry the Eighth.’ She has a background in the media and has worked for many years as a TV presenter for CNN, ITV, Sky and Channel Five.
Benjamin Gutsell is a dynamic Singing Teacher, Conductor and Tenor working in the South West of England. He graduated from Cardiff University with a Bachelor of Music Degree with Honours where he was awarded the David Lloyd Vocal Scholarship. He now enjoys a varied career as a Freelance Musician.
Since 2015, Benjamin has been teaching singing to students of all ages. He is the singing teacher and vocal coach at St Brendan’s Sixth Form College, working closely with their Performing Arts and Music Performance departments. He has also been a singing teacher at Re:ACT Theatre School since September 2016 and is excited to be joining the ranks of Taunton Music Services. Benjamin also teaches students privately and is comfortable teaching in a multitude of different styles.
Benjamin is a keen ensemble singer, regularly performing with chamber ensembles including The National Youth Chamber Choir, Icosa Chamber Choir, Caritas, The Victoria Singers, Frumenti Consort, The BBC National Chorus of Wales and Bristol Choral Society. Recent performance highlights include Cheltenham Music Festival, Petworth Music Festival, the BBC Proms and alongside Kylie Minogue in her two-night spectacular, ‘A Kylie Christmas’.
Katie graduated from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in 2011 where she gained an BMus Honours degree specialising in Vocal and Operatic Studies.Katie has a vast amount of choral and solo experience for which she has travelled extensively around the UK and abroad. During her time in Birmingham she sang with various choirs, such as the Birmingham Camerata and the CBSC (City of Birmingham Symphony Chorus).She performed in many of their concerts around the country, singing in such venues as Symphony Hall, Birmingham and Bridgewater Hall, Manchester. She sings locally in Taunton and is a qualified classroom music teacher as well as a singing teacher. Katie likes all genres of music but specialises in Classical and Musical Theatre repertoire.
