SAXOPHONE LESSONS IN TAUNTON

Don't play the Saxophone, let it play you.

Saxophone Lessons in Taunton are available here at Taunton Music.

A student taking Saxophone Lessons at Taunton Music would initially learn how to produce a sound on the instrument via the correct “embouchure” (there is a little more to it than just blowing!) The next step would be to learn about the six main keys on the Saxophone and to learn how to read music. If you have never read music before don’t worry, anyone can learn! You would then progress by learning to play simple tunes, and in due course you can move on to such things as vibrato, lip slurs, glissandi, grace notes, trills etc. (Don’t worry if this sounds scary, these are just the posh names for all the twiddly bits!) You can learn to play famous pieces like The Pink Panther and Baker Street, you can also learn to make up your own music spontaneously (usually called improvisation which is the main element in jazz) and, yes you’ve guessed it, this also can be learnt from scratch – no prior knowledge or talent required! In fact, what are you waiting for? A lifetime’s pleasure and fulfilment awaits!

The hugely popular Saxophone – atmosphere in a class of its own

Few instruments have the glamour and appeal of the saxophone (or ‘saxaphone’ as many people erroneously call it!) This brass woodwind instrument has such an evocative sound that it is instantly recognised and loved by music lovers everywhere. In jazz especially, the saxophone is an instrument with which a skilled player can spellbind an audience, weaving a web of music around them.

Is the Saxophone hard to learn?

It is little wonder therefore that so many people want to learn to play the saxophone. Although it is not difficult to learn the saxophone, it does take application and effort. That said, private saxophone lessons with one of the best saxophone teachers Taunton or the surrounding area can offer will certainly give you a head start! The trick with learning the saxophone is to get the technique right at the start, practice daily, and be determined to succeed. The saxophone is a hugely rewarding instrument to play, and the effort is well worthwhile.
